Miso di Riso BioBistro

As I was walking around the Santa Croce area one day, I stumbled upon a beautiful restaurant that was covered in plants and trees. Intrigued, I walked in and it turned out to be a vegetarian, vegan, macrobiotico, and crudista place called Miso di Riso Biobistro. The day I was walking around was incredibly cold and rainy and I was therefore drawn to the zuppa di miso. My favorite part about this soup was that it was served with tofu, a traditional vegetarian protein substitute.  On top of the soup that I ordered, the rest of the menu looked incredible. It included choices of Insalate, including insalata di spinaci e bacchi di goji con flan di cardo e uovo in camicia (spinach salad with a poached egg on top). After the first course, they offer a variety of cereals. The one that stood out to me most was the risotto alla zucca, ginger e mandorle. The next time I visit this restaurant, I will most definitely get the gnocchi croccanti di castagne con fonduta di parmigiano. It sounded like a delicious pasta with nuts and cheese. What could be better? Make sure to finish off the meal with a light dolci (dessert). My favorite was the crème brulèe all’arancia. Which was an Italian spin on a traditional French dessert. The restaurant did not accept credit cards when I was there. But the great selection of healthy vegetarian food is worth it! Be sure to try a glass of wine or mug of tea here as well. This is one restaurant that I am excited to go back and bring my friends.
