Pasticceria Sieni

I really enjoyed my Pasticceria Sieni experience. It was very easy to find since it is right behind the stands of the central leather market. The store was very nice, beautifully decorated, and overall extremely classy. We first sat down before eating to observe the atmosphere. For the time we were there, it seemed there were mostly older people who were regulars. They were very friendly with the employees. While the establishment appeals to customers of all ages, it was interesting to see mostly older people. Pasticceria Sieni also has an incredibly vast menu. With a wide variety of pastries and coffee choices, they also serve inexpensive lunch dishes like pizzas, pastas and salads. I ended up spending about 3 euro for a pastry, but if one were to buy lunch and a drink it could cost up to about 10 euro.
When I was ordering, I picked out what looked like to be a nice chocolate cake. The woman helping me tried to tell me it was “alcoholico” which I didn’t understand at the time but meant there was alcohol in it. It was actually a rum cake, which I have only tried once before. It was pretty tasty, very moist and strong. However, not something I would have normally ordered. My group shared many different pastries with each other, and each one was very tasty and of high quality. My favorite was the cream croissant-like pastry, which is something I eat very often normally. I really liked Pasticceria Sieni overall. As a classy pastry shop, it was obvious that the customers who were regulars knew of its quality. While I personally tend to like more homey, cute pastry shops more, this was a great experience that I hope to bring more people to in coming weeks.
