I’Pizzacchiere is a small pizzeria on Via San Miniato. It is in a small square with many seemingly popular restaurants, but wasn’t overly crowded inside. As customers walk up to the door they are greeted by a very friendly employee. He was raving about the pizza as he sat us at a wooden table with two seats against the wall and two bench seats. The restaurant seats about twenty-six people and is pretty narrow so may not be the best place for large groups. The menu was extensive, having all different types of pizza, and in our opinion, a good drink selection. The waiter provided us with an English menu making it easier for us to order faster. They offer both personal sized pizzas and larger ones for sharing. We found two personal pizzas for three people and was the perfect amount of food, for about twenty-five euro in total. The crust is cooked perfectly, a nice combination of fluffy and doughy. They also offer many vegetarian options outside of just the Margherita pizza. There is also a window between the dining area and the kitchen so customers can see them preparing the pizza.
Reservations did not seem necessary, but the establishment is very small so if customers want to make sure they will be able to have a table upon arrival, they may want to make one just in case. The pizza is also available for takeaway.
I’Pizzacchierre is located right at the bottom of a walking path down from Piazzale Michelangelo and could be the perfect place to stop after watching the sunset. Due to its location and friendly staff, it is the perfect place for tourists to come experience authentic Italian pizza, though it is also frequented by many Florentine locals. It is the perfect place to get quick pizza and a drink of great quality for a relatively small price. We also loved how it was a family run restaurant. It gave the place a homey feel and the entire staff and even people eating there seemed very welcoming and happy. We would highly recommend this place to any tourist or local for some good food.
