Osteria del Porcellino

The Osteria dell’Porcellino is located on the corner street near Piazza del Mercato Nuovo (new market). Tables were available both inside and outside. Reservations were not needed, however, for convenience, this Osteria has a website where clients can make dinner reservations. We were greeted very well by owner and he offered us a table and menu right away. The location was very pleasant and clean and the food seemed very fresh. Presentation was simple but extremely delicious and creamy. The dish of gnocchi had one fresh basil leaf placed on the center of the dish. Food was hot and steaming. The flavor of the food was excellent. Very creamy and cheesy. I had been looking for something like this with a sauce. Next time I want to try the lasagna and some meat. Very good food and reasonably priced. The owner came in as we finished and I asked him where he was from. He is local born and raised Florentine. He was extremely approachable and friendly and thanked us and asked us to visit again. All the dishes we ordered for perfect. The flavors of the food were wonderful. Side street and location might be a little difficult to find but worth the time to find it. I would gladly go there again.
