Il Pizzaiuolo

Review by: April Durrett
Il Pizzaiuolo is located on a side street and is can be found not too far away from the Duomo. Reservations can be taken but it was not necessary when we went. It is an adorable pizza place. Small but made you feel like home. You sit close to other guest and watch as they make the food behind a wall of glass. There are funny and interesting paintings on the walls. The service we received was fantastic. The waitress was attentive and friendly. The menu is in many different languages with a wide variety of pizza and calzones. The portions are large and my Calzone was fluffy and stuffed with cheese and salami. They had a simple wine list. I think this a lovely pizza place that not a lot of tourist know about, unlike Gusta Pizza. It was not crowded and I enjoyed the air conditioning! However, you must ask for the check, it is not automatically brought to you. I would definitely go back if I was in the mood for a calzone.
